We distribute outer wrapping paper made from true vegetable parchment. There are imitation parchments often offered and sold as "parchment", but they do not have the same resistance to tearing when wet and boiling.

Parchment can withstand the high heat of cooking in steam and is necessary for any tamale-making process, either as an outer sheet wrapper to wrap the traditional corn-husk "hoja", or the corn-husk can be completely replaced by an inner sheet of parchment.
